The midwifery profession in Alberta is now governed by the College of Alberta Midwives.

Protecting the Public

Assessing and addressing questions and issues about the conduct and competence of midwives is one of the ways in which the College of Midwives of Alberta works to protect the public.

If you have a question or issue with regard to midwifery care, you should contact the College of Midwives of Alberta. It is recommended that you discuss these issues with the Registrar who can advise you on which of the several avenues that are available would be most appropriate (education, mediation, practice review, complaint).  To find out more about the process involved in making and following up on a complaint see: The Complaint Process
